Va. Cops Say Mercury Deliberately Spilled By Associated Press

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Beads of mercury were found in City Council chambers, and police said they think the toxic chemical was spilled deliberately. The Environmental Protection Agency was cleaning up the site, which remained closed on Friday, Fire Chief T.K. Weiler said. The EPA has budgeted $250,000 for the cleanup.
The mercury was found Monday on the council members' chairs and floor, and tests found that the air contained mercury vapors at more than 100 times above acceptable levels, EPA site coordinator Bob Guarni said. Exposure to the vapors can cause neurological and respiratory problems. Investigators believe a disgruntled person in this town 50 miles southeast of Richmond is responsible, but they don't have any suspects or leads, Deputy Police Chief Dave Sloggie said.

Amazing how 100 times the dose in this case is so dangerous and toxic but put them in a baby and call it 'nothing to worry about' and effects are only coincidences???
